CW: When did you decide to go into the business you are in?
“I decided to transition from software client service to interior design in March 2019. I set up a few informational interviews with designers in Charleston that I love, and I started researching academic programs. My research led me to a year-long interior design program in Florence, Italy.”
CW: What inspires you?
“When I am meeting clients for consultations, I feel particularly inspired when I come into a home that has a strong sense of character and history, and they want to meld that with something new.”
CW: Tell us about how you grew up and what or who shaped you into the woman you are today.
“My parents split when I was a kid, and my mom lived in Colorado while my dad lived in South Carolina. I flew between them multiple times a year on my own when I was as young as 8. This developed a sense of independence that has served me well on my chosen path, and I cherish it.”
CW: Who influences you in your life currently?
“I am influenced by a career coach that I worked with a couple of years ago. She helped me understand what wasn’t working and what I wanted, and I still rely on some thought processes that I learned from her when making career decisions today.”
