Owner of 80 Muze, former New York City-based model, Amber Scott, has had a fondness for scent since she was a child. Her earliest childhood memories include her mother with all the beautiful, fancy perfume bottles that she kept on her dresser. “She had this air of sophistication and always smelled so good,” Scott recalled. However, after she had children, there were certain fragrances that she could no longer tolerate. Scents had always played an important role in her routine, so she decided to give it a shot and create something of her own. Now in Charleston, in a market in need of good fragrance options, 80 Muze was born.
Scott’s goal is to offer clean, modern and sophisticated fragrances that are timeless and can be enjoyed for generations to come. Her newest, Scent No. 9, will be released soon and is described as refreshing and cozy. With hints of suede, cardamom and Hinoki (described as reminiscent of a Japanese forest, crisp and slightly citrusy), this is sure to be a scent that projects elegance and sophistication.
80 Muze aims to deliver the sexier side of naturals through an organic and modern process. This creates a vastly different scent experience than what is being offered on the market today. All the fragrances contain premium grade oils which are vegan, cruelty free and paraben free. The box and glass vessels are recyclable as well.
Scott clearly has a passion for scent and fragrance that has enabled her to offer a much-needed product to the fragrance industry. Scott commented, “I love scent, always have. Just like music, scent can instantly transport you back to a moment, feeling or memory. I have this sort of aromatic soundtrack of my life through fragrance, it’s amazing.” Her passion for what she does and her commitment to sustainable materials sets her apart from others in the business, so strongly you can smell it.
