Shoulder down; neck out; chin down – and smile!
If you’ve ever been coached by Jenn Bopp Cady for a professional head shot, you are most likely familiar with these words … and know they work. Jenn Cady Photography delivers all its clients their best angle, side and ultimately, a photo they will be proud to showcase as a personal brand. As the local expert in corporate and branding photography, Jenn specializes in professional head shots, real estate photos and workplace imagery.
After first meeting Jenn and going in for work head shots, I’ll admit, I had my doubts; I was never quite comfortable in the posed studio environment or with a traditional big, toothy smile, so I was a bit worried. But much to my amazement, the process was painless and quick, and the results were amazing.
And that’s just my experience.
I also had the honor of working alongside Jenn for the “Food and Fashion” editorial for this issue of Lowcountry Cuisine, and she always managed to bring out the most exquisite beauty in all our subjects at each and every location. They, too, were easily guided throughout the photo shoot, where our “Food and Fashion” participants felt confident, happy and at ease, and that was really my ultimate goal.
So what makes Jenn so good at what she does?
Well, her background is both extensive and impressive, having photographed for national magazines such as Southern Living, Town and Country, Seventeen, People and Cosmopolitan, as well as recently photographing editorials for New York Fashion Week. She has also shot Chris Harrison from “The Bachelor” and Lara Spencer from “Good Morning America.” Shoot & Share voted her second-best people photographer in the world, and, most recently, she has been offered the photo director position for the United States for Gladys Magazine.
Jenn has had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best in the industry while living in Nashville and working with Curb Records. And she’s now excited to bring her skills, knowledge and creative edge to Mount Pleasant, Charleston and all the other towns and cities in the Lowcountry.
Additionally, she’s the co-author of a book which is available for purchase on Amazon: “Distinctly You: Rebranding Yourself from the Inside Out.”
Having roots in the Miss America pageant as Miss West Virginia 1994 – the 50th anniversary year of the pageant – Jenn continues to give back to Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization by photographing contestants around the nation.
According to Jenn’s website: “Our goal is to tell your story in the most compelling way possible. We treat every session with the care and the trust that it deserves. What could be more important than having beautiful images that will provide enjoyment for generations to come?”
