On any given day, you can walk in and find clusters of people sharing light-hearted conversation over coffee and dessert at Sena Café — book clubs, church groups and dance groups, all gathering to enjoy a moment with their friends.
“We have a great atmosphere.” said Sena Jovic, half of the husband-and-wife duo that runs the cafe. “We know how important it is for people to have a place like this right now, and we’re taking extra measures to ensure that our café is completely sanitized and a safe place for everyone to eat, drink and relax.”
There is no shortage of quality food either. Lobster rolls, healthy sandwiches, a variety of coffees and flaky pastries are all here to bring people together, enjoying each other’s company and letting the world’s troubles dissolve. They even offer beer and wine, a popular choice for many groups that meet here.
Jovic’s family comes from a small area in Europe called Baka. After moving to the United States, they knew it was important to bring that small-town flavor to Mount Pleasant.
“Our dream has always been to open a mom-and-pop store, and we finally did it. My husband is such an amazing chef. We want to do everything we can to make sure our guests have a magical experience.”
