CW: When did you decide to go into the business you are in?
“My name is Huong Tran (Kate). I am from Vietnam. I went into this business when I was about 18 years old.”
CW: How do you find your passion?
“I want to make people feel beautiful. We are not a nail spa that only cares about money or what time we get off.”
CW: What habits do you implement in day-to-day life that you attribute to success?
“I keep thinking about my dream all the time. If you think about good things — good things will come to you.”
CW: Tell us about how you grew up and what or who shaped you into the woman you are today.
“There were seven girls and one boy. I am the baby. I watched my parents show my older siblings how to grow up. My father passed away when I was in sixth grade. One day, my dad had told me he wanted me to be a successful woman. Vietnam is very poor. I remember everything he told me and try to make him proud.”
CW: If you could have dinner with anyone (alive or passed away), who would it be and why?
“My dad, who passed away, and my daughter, Maria Nguyen.”
CW: Tell us about your family.
“Now I live with my mother, husband and daughter. I’m lucky because my mother is there to help cook and take care of my daughter. She makes me feel much more comfortable working long hours.”
