A visit to Kinz & Co. Salon is like a mini-vacation from the daily grind. It’s a rare slice of time that’s all about the client. Whether someone wants a quick trim or a completely new look, one of the five talented stylists will help identify the person’s own style and create a look that enhances his or her individuality and uniqueness. Every guest also receives a shampoo, a blowout and a stress-relieving aromatherapy scalp and shoulder massage.
“We want clients to walk out of the salon feeling relaxed and confident with a little extra spring in their step,” said McKinnsey Patterson, salon owner and master stylist. “We love empowering our clients to not only look their best but also feel their best.”
In addition to cuts, styling, color and hair treatments, Kinz & Co. Salon offers makeup, false lash application, facial waxing, brow tinting and bridal services.
“We really enjoy working with bridal parties,” Patterson said. “There is something so special about creating a look for a woman on one of the most significant days of her life. Whether it’s being in the middle of her bridal party in our private suite or on-site in an upstairs bedroom overlooking Sullivan’s Island — a wedding day is magical. To know that we are helping her and her friends and family look and feel their best on such a monumental (and photographed day) is a humbling experience. It is never lost on me what a huge responsibility but rewarding experience it is.”
Living and working in Mount Pleasant is ideal to Patterson because she thinks it is one of the best cities in America. She likes the food, shopping, beaches and especially, the people.
“I love how it is a very small-knit and supportive community but still shows such warmth and hospitality to the many visitors we have each year. We are truly blessed to call this town our home.”
Patterson admitted that when she began the process of opening her own studio, it took dedication and hard work, but, with passion and drive, she created a business for stylists to thrive, learn and grow. She said, “They say if you enjoy what you do, you’ll never ‘work’ a day in your life. Now that I own my own salon, I can truly say that is a fact. It is such a rewarding experience to walk in every day and know that this is something that I have designed from ground up.”
She added, “From meeting new and interesting people to inspiring creativity, it really is my ‘dream job.’”
