For Kim Russo, it’s all about the freedom to create. In her Charleston-based business, On Brand Designs, Russo brings this ethic to her clients for any kind of branding they need.
“My specialty is creating designs that work well in all aspects of branding, including print, packaging, digital and social media marketing and web design,” said Russo, who began her business in 2017. “I love taking a new brand or re-creating an existing brand and making it beautiful— that’s how I formed my company name: I keep things on brand.”
Some local clients include Middleton Place, Lowcountry Harvest and Elevate Spinal Care. Past brands include Crest, Milk-Bone dog treats, Sephora and Tide.
Russo’s focus is hospitality and service-based markets— and helping other businesswomen.
“Businesswomen always seem like-minded in knowing what they want,” she said. “There is a sense of ‘come one, come all,’ and I love sharing my knowledge in branding and offering support to new businesswomen.”
Russo’s attitude came after a long time in the branding trenches. She always enjoyed her work, but felt limited on what she could offer company clients. After 12 years in both large and small corporations in New York City, she became her own boss and eventually moved to Charleston.
“By then, I had the experience, knowledge and clientele I needed,” she said. “And now I love presenting design options or final design projects and having the excitement of a happy client who loves and appreciates the work.”
