It is evident when you walk into Metto Coffee & Tea that this coffee house is infused with love. Nestled beneath beautiful oak trees that provide shade on the porch, it is a respite from the busy outside world. This sanctuary from the hustle and bustle is a result of co-owner Sarah Parrish’s commitment to coffee culture and her passion for entrepreneurship.
Parrish opened Metto Coffee & Tea in December 2006 with her husband, Paxton Parrish. In January, the coffee house underwent a complete remodel – the colors were updated to a serene St. Bart’s blue and a new espresso machine was added.
Parrish decided to open Metto because she fell in love with the story of coffee.
“I love how coffee comes from such humble beginnings, and, through a labor of love, it reaches the customer,” she explained.
Parrish contributes hard work, a never-give-up attitude, family support and God’s grace to her success.
“I think having a mother’s perspective has certainly helped me, relating to customers and in leading my staff. It is more about the people than the product – although we love our coffee and food,” Parrish said. “Also, having the support of other women in the community.”
Stop by Metto Coffee & Tea for a welcoming environment and a coffee shop owner who truly cares.
