Tammy McCutcheon of State Farm Insurance and A Tailor Made Event

Tammy McCutcheon loves to help people so much that she owns not one but two businesses that help her do just that. She has been an independent agent for State Farm Insurance since 1990. She and her six employees focus on property, casualty and life insurance.

“I like helping people and helping people uncover their needs. State Farm has always been a great company to work for – always honest, a great brand and a great reputation,” she said.

It was actually her clients, in part, who inspired her to open A Tailor Made Event, a full-service event planning and party rental company. McCutcheon, who loves to entertain, often invites her clients to parties.

“I was constantly purchasing things and having different themes, and I saw a business opportunity,” she grinned.

Her hobby has taken off, and she now employs more than a dozen people in that business, including an in-house seamstress and an in-house contractor to ensure that all her clients’ dreams can come to life.

“It’s hard work having two businesses, but it’s rewarding for me because, at the end of the day, I’ve helped my clients – either by making sure my insurance clients are properly covered for their most important assets or wowing a bride on one of the most important days of her life.”
