Susan Matthews credits her success as a luxury Realtor to her unique background. Prior to her real estate career, Matthews worked in journalism, marketing and on television. “In those jobs, I had to research, think creatively, communicate and strategize. These are the same skills home sellers and buyers need and deserve,” she said.
Matthews has certainly utilized all those skills and others by selling over $15 million in 2021. She then decided it was time to form The Matthews Group with Coldwell Banker Realty in Mount Pleasant. She explained, “I’m so proud of my team. They are truly ambassadors for the area and real estate advisors who understand that luxury isn’t a price point — it’s an experience.”
She sits on the board of the Charleston Playhouse, the city’s first equity professional musical theater company, and is also on the board of Savvy Giving By Design, a nonprofit that helps local children going through a medical crisis by renovating their bedrooms to add functionality and fun. Giving back and being involved with the community are also skills Matthews has mastered.
Originally from Philadelphia, she moved to Mount Pleasant with her family in 2015. Within five years of becoming a Realtor, she earned the accolades of East Cooper Top Producer, Realtor of Distinction and Coldwell Banker International President’s Circle.
