When Vanessa Hapka, an entrepreneur and mother of four, moved to Summerville, she discovered that one important component was missing: a full-service salon that she could fall in love with. Having worked in the industry for sixteen years, Hapka decided that she would create the space she longed for – for both herself and other women. Her vision became a one-stop shop for hair styling, event makeup, waxing, lash extensions, nontoxic spray tanning, permanent jewelry and facials. She also envisioned customized massages, including various modalities with options such as Swedish, therapeutic, deep tissue, aromatherapy and hot stone. What she saw was a woman’s happy place. That vision became a reality when she founded the Girl House – a place where clientele come to experience a chic spaces, light bites, coffee and champagne. Working alongside independent specialists who support one another as a team, Hapka unveiled the paradise, one-stop, female Mecca she envisioned.
The Girl House also hosts pop-up events, highlighting other women-owned businesses such as the Bra Emporium, the BettyJo Co. Handmade Jewelry, Sipup Nutrition and Little Arrow Candle Company. Special guests also include cosmetic injectors and other professionals women love.
For Hapka, helping women build businesses is as rewarding as seeing her clients enjoy their time at The Girl House. Whether you’re a business owner or new client, reach out. You’ve found your happy place.
