Louise of Summerville

Since the clothing boutique opened in May 2024, co-owners Jennifer Limehouse and Jennifer Crosby have been welcoming women of all generations to enjoy a shopping experience that is more than just browsing through the racks. According to Limehouse, “At Louise, we are building a sense of community by engaging our customers through conversations and laughter. We encourage them to get creative with fashion and leave with confidence.”

Crosby added, “We want our friends, as well as their moms and daughters, to find something they love and that never goes out of style.”

As Limehouse and Crosby were starting the business, they envisioned a name for the boutique that would resonate with their selection of elegant clothing as well as its posh decor, designed by Joy Lang. Limehouse said when she and Crosby discovered both of their daughters have the middle name Louise in honor of their late paternal grandmothers, it was a “God wink” moment. “Louise is a timeless name and that’s what our shop stands for.”

When asked what’s trending this fall, Limehouse said there is a shift away from seasonal colors and toward personalizing a look. She said that while she enjoys taking risks when it comes to fashion, “When we buy for Louise, we choose pieces that genuinely resonate with us — because if we don’t love it, how can we expect our customers to? Our customers trust us, and that trust means everything. But more than anything, I want customers to love the experience, enjoy the conversation, and leave feeling confident and cared for.”

The most rewarding aspect of Louise, Crosby said, is building genuine connections with customers and being part of a community they love. “Louise has truly become a cornerstone of downtown Summerville. To bring women together, we’re always adding fun and unique events to the calendar – everything from mahjong game nights and pop-up vendors to tailgating parties and custom hat bars.”
