When she and her husband opened Accurate Chiropractic 17 years ago, Dr. Gina Courson was the first and only female chiropractor in Mount Pleasant.
“I was busy from the beginning, largely because I am a female; both females and males came to see me because they wanted a female chiropractor – perhaps because females have a reputation to be more compassionate,” said Dr. Courson.
But providing compassionate care is only one part of Dr. Courson’s practice; she is driven by results and dedicates herself to providing quality care. She loves to read, research and learn new approaches that can help her patients.
Chiropractic encompasses the whole body and its overall health, and Dr. Courson enjoys that her practice allows patients to be more aware of their health. Chiropractic helps people take charge of their own health naturally, rather than a patient using medicine for a quick fix.
“Chiropractic is so much more than just ‘adjusting bones,’ as some people think,” she continued. “It can help the whole body – back pain, headaches, hearing, blood pressure, pregnancy and more. My youngest patient is 4 days old; and whether someone is 4 days old or 90 years young, chiropractic can change people’s lives. I love that.”
